Set up email in Microsoft Outlook
Add your WebGee mailbox to Outlook on Windows, including calendar and contact sync, which Outlook does not support natively.
Add your WebGee mailbox to Microsoft Outlook on Windows. Applies to every WebGee Workspace mailbox.
Which route you take depends on your Outlook version, and on whether you need calendars and contacts as well as mail.
Outlook for Mac cannot synchronise calendars or contacts with WebGee Workspace and is not supported. Use Apple Mail instead, which handles all three.
Mail only
This works on every recent Outlook version and is the simplest route.
- Open Outlook.
- If this is your first account, Outlook offers to set one up. Otherwise select File → Add Account.
- Enter your full email address and select Next.
- Enter your mailbox password when prompted.
- Select Finish.
If Outlook cannot detect the settings, enter them by hand from Email server settings.
Mail, calendars and contacts
Outlook has no built-in support for CalDAV or CardDAV, so calendar and contact sync needs a free add-in.
- Download and install Outlook CalDav Synchronizer.
- Set up your mailbox for mail using the steps above.
- In Outlook, open the CalDav Synchronizer ribbon and select Synchronization Profiles.
- Select Add multiple profiles, choose SOGo, then OK.
- Select Get IMAP/POP3 account settings.
- Select Discover resources and assign to Outlook folders.
- In Select Resource, choose your main calendar — usually Personal Calendar — select the … button and assign it to Calendar.
- Repeat on the Address Books and Tasks tabs.
- Close each window with OK.
Assign exactly one calendar, one address book and one task list. Assigning several to the same Outlook folder causes duplicated and deleted entries.
If Outlook from Microsoft 365 will not add the account
Outlook installed from Microsoft 365 has a long-standing autodiscover problem that stops it completing setup. Outlook installed from any other source is unaffected.
Launch the older account assistant directly:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OLCFG.EXEIf it opens, add the account from there. If it does not, disable the simplified account creation wizard and then add the account normally.
Check it worked
Send yourself a message from webmail and confirm it arrives in Outlook. If you set up the synchroniser, create a test event in Outlook and check it appears in webmail under Calendar.
