Create an email account
Add a mailbox in cPanel, set a sensible quota, and connect it to a mail client.
Create a mailbox on your domain. Applies to shared, reseller and Premium hosting.
Create it
- In cPanel, open Email Accounts under Email.
- Select Create.
- Choose the domain and enter the part before the
@. - Set a password — use Generate.
- Set the storage space.
- Select Create.
Choose a quota deliberately
Avoid Unlimited. Mailboxes count against your account's total disk space, and an unlimited mailbox that nobody empties will eventually consume it — at which point the website stops working too, not just mail.
A few gigabytes per mailbox is usually right, and it makes overuse visible before it becomes a problem.
See Email storage limits.
Connect a mail client
The new mailbox works immediately at webmail.webgee.com.
For a desktop or mobile client, see Email server settings, or the guides for Apple Mail, Android, Outlook and Thunderbird.
The username is always the full email address.
Before sending anything
New domains send poorly until authentication is configured. Set it up before the first campaign or invoice run, not after:
- Set your SPF record
- Enable DKIM under cPanel → Email Deliverability
- Publish a DMARC record
Forwarders and aliases
For an address that only redirects — info@ going to a real mailbox — create a
forwarder instead. It uses no storage and no quota.
Email → Forwarders → Add Forwarder.
Delete one carefully
Deleting a mailbox deletes its messages. Export anything needed first — connect it in a desktop client and let it download completely.
