Use the AI Assistant
Ask questions about your own cPanel account in plain language. What the Meridian AI Assistant can explain, diagnose and change, and what it will not touch.
The AI Assistant is a chat panel inside cPanel's Meridian theme. It answers questions about your own account in plain language, without sending you to a different page to find the answer.
Applies to cPanel accounts using Meridian, where the assistant has been enabled for the account. If you are on Meridian and see no Ask AI button, ask WebGee support whether it is switched on for your plan.
Open it
- In cPanel, select Ask AI — the floating button in the bottom-right corner.
- Type your question and send it.
The panel opens with suggested prompts based on where you are: open it from the Email hub and it offers email questions, open it from Databases and it offers database ones. It stays open or closed between visits, whichever you left it.
Select Clear in the chat header to start a fresh conversation. The thumbs-up and thumbs-down icons on each answer feed back to cPanel.
What you can ask it
The assistant handles four kinds of request.
Explain — what a feature is and what it does:
What does PHP-FPM do?
What is the difference between an addon domain and a subdomain?Guide — how to complete a task, step by step:
How do I create an email account?
How do I point a subdomain at a different folder?Diagnose — read-only checks against your own account: domains, disk quota, email accounts, databases, SSL status:
Is SSL valid on all my domains?
How much disk space am I using, and what is using it?Act — make a change, with your approval. Availability depends on what the provider has enabled, and it covers low-risk tasks such as creating an email account. The assistant shows an Approval required card describing the change before anything happens; nothing changes until you approve it.
What it will not do
- Change anything without your explicit approval.
- Perform irreversible actions.
- Fix complex multi-step problems — an outage, or cleaning up a compromised site.
- See or touch any account other than yours, or any server-wide setting.
- Act as the server administrator's assistant. It is scoped to your account only.
- Write code, or replace WebGee support.
For anything in that list, open a ticket. The assistant is a faster route to the things cPanel can already do for you, not a route to things it cannot.
Do not paste passwords, card numbers or other secrets into the chat. Conversations may be logged for quality and support purposes. The assistant already has the access it needs to your account — it never needs a credential from you.
What it can see
The assistant works within your account's own permissions. Its context is where you are in the interface and which domain you have selected, plus the read-only account details listed under Diagnose above. No personally identifiable information is sent to analytics.
