Which nameservers to use
The nameservers to point your domain at for WebGee cPanel hosting, and why the pair in your welcome email takes precedence.
Point your domain at WebGee's nameservers so it resolves to your hosting. Applies to shared and reseller hosting.
Use the nameservers in your welcome email. They are specific to the server your account is on, and they take precedence over anything listed here. Accounts on different servers do not all use the same pair.
The usual cPanel nameservers
If you no longer have the welcome email, these are the common set:
| Hostname | |
|---|---|
| Primary | ns1.webgee.com |
| Secondary | ns2.webgee.com |
Some accounts are issued ns1.primens.one and ns2.primens.one instead. Both
pairs are valid — use whichever your welcome email specifies.
You can confirm the correct pair at any time from the client area, under your service's details.
Setting them
Where you change nameservers depends on where the domain is registered, not where it is hosted:
- Registered with WebGee — change them in the client area under Domains → My Domains → Nameservers.
- Registered elsewhere — change them at that registrar.
Check it worked
dig +short NS example.comThe response should list your WebGee nameservers. Propagation typically takes a few hours and can take up to 48.
See Check what nameservers your domain is using.
If you use Cloudflare or external DNS
Then you are not using WebGee's nameservers, and that is fine. Instead of
changing nameservers, point an A record at your server's IP address, which is
shown in your welcome email and in the client area.
Do not do both. A domain pointing at Cloudflare's nameservers ignores WebGee's DNS zone entirely, so changes you make in cPanel's Zone Editor will have no effect — a common and confusing waste of time. See Put your site behind Cloudflare.
